Leigh completed Physiotherapy in 2001 (Curtin University) and has worked predominately in private practice in
Australia and the United Kingdom (Harley Street).
She has a particular interest in treating musculoskeletal/sporting injuries, headaches, jaw dysfunction, upper
limb nerve compression syndromes (she has lectured on this topic to colleagues and Orthopaedic Surgeons),
Neurological conditions, Hands and Women’s Health. Leigh excels in rehabilitating clients/athletes back to
their original training level with one-on-on Clinical Pilates/rehab/exercise programs. Leigh has considerable
knowledge & experience with assessing foot mechanics, prescription of inner soles/mouldable orthotics and
video gait analysis.
Highlights:
- 1999 selected for WA’s Women’s Rugby Union Team
- 2000 Sydney Olympics – worked in the Olympic Village
- 2006 Clinic in Wentworth Estate, England; looked after the top 10 golfers of the world
- 2007 Worked alongside one of the top Podiatrists in London. Excellent foot/leg biomechanical analysis and
orthotic moulding.
- 2008 Harley Street, London (most famous Medical Street in the world), looked after elite: marathon runners,
triathletes, ultimate fighter!! Consulted to some of the Harley Street Dentists.
- 2009 Partner at Mt Pleasant Physiotherapy, 2011 Partner at Centro Physio.
- 2012 Physio for WA Jnr Touch Football Team – Western Tigers
- 2010 - 2013 Physio for Fire Fighters Rugby Team
Leigh’s sport/passion is martial arts (Muay Thai/Kung Fu/Jeet Kun Do). She loves to take her western
knowledge in biomechanics and apply it to the eastern philosophy of martial arts training.
She has treated many disciplines: Karate, Hapkido, Capoeira, Kung Fu and Muay Thai,& an MMA/cage fighter
on the Japanese circuit, and has run workshops at some of the clubs. |
